One DWI Arrest at McLean Sobriety Checkpoint
MCLEAN, VA - One arrest was made at a sobriety checkpoint that Fairfax County police setup Friday night at Route 7 and Lewinsville Rd., Fairfax police said.
Approximately 982 motorists passed through the checkpoint that police setup from 11:30 pm.Friday, August 20 until 2:30 am. Saturday. Purpose of the sobriety checkpoint: To deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers. All motorists were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs, police said.
Abraham Cabrera-Sanchez, 27, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested and charged with DWI (first offense), driving without a license, and refusal of a breath test, police said. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, processed and remanded to the custody of Fairfax County Sheriff Office, police said.
