MCLEAN, VA – A 41-year-old McLean resident was arrested Monday and charged with  five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of production of child pornography, Fairfax County Police said Tuesday.

The arrest of Joshua Gessler , 1310 Nina Court, in Broyhill McLean Estates, came as a result of an in-depth investigation which began in May, police said. The investigation began after police received a report of a 15-year-old Centreville-area girl who was reported as a runaway. As police investigated this incident, detectives reportedly linked Gessler to the girl through a series of online interactions. They believe the girl and Gessler met in person and he allegedly took photos of a sexual nature and transmitted them electronically.

MSNBC reported that Gessler, an attorney for the Arnold and Porter law firm in Tysons Corner. He was also on the adjunct law faculty at George Mason University but was not scheduled to teach there this fall. NBC4 also had these additional details connected with the charges.
