MCLEAN, VA – Our neighbor, Mary S. Amons, one of this season’s Real Housewives of D.C., looked liked an innocent bystander at a train wreck on Thursday night’s show — and there were several wrecks.

Mary had scant face time  in Thursday night’s episode of this Bravo TV franchise. In case you’re not watching our newest neighborhood celebrity,  Mary’s grown daughter, Lolly, has moved back home with her large dog. Mary’s not doing well with this dog and its hair.

Her star turn came for the few minutes she was talking to her housekeeper Rosa, at home in Langley Farms. The chat with Rosa was  about cleaning up the dog’s fur and other household chores. BTW, she asked husband Rich if Rosa could work more hours because she, Mary, was so busy —-  filming the TV show with her girlfriends of course. Rich asked why couldn’t the kids (they have 5) do the extra work. (We like Rich.)

Then Mary and Cat*,  Catherine Ommanney, (another “housewife”) lunch at  Leopold’s,  the Georgetown restaurant where Lolly works. Mary  leaves a large tip for her daughter. Cat complains.

No surprise most of the show was about Tareg and Micheale Salahi — the folks who never saw a spotlight they didn’t grab. We saw Michaele’s birthday. The birthday party she gave for a well-known Washington stylist. Riding with the Salahis at their Virginia farm.

Stay tuned. We fear this can only get worse.

*The Ear incorrectly the name of the lunch companion in earlier editions. An alert reader corrected us and we thank them.

Your comments were all correct except for Mary’s lunch at Leopold’s in Georgetown. Her lunch partner was Cat and not Lynda. After criticizing Mary for leaving her daughter a rather large gratuity for waiting on their table, Cat commented on her mothering style and said “if you make your bed, you have to sleep in it “. Lynda, being a working mother with 5 kids. I think would have agreed with Mary’s supportive parenting skills. I would have done the same thing–one of our most supportive roles as a parent, is to be the head cheerleader for our children as they enter the workforce especially given the challenges they face in today’s job market.

I agree with you–it’s all down hill from here. And McLean has alot of hills. If only the polo ponies could talk.

You are absolutely right. The Ear is embarrassed. Thank you very much.
