The month-long adoption celebration, ExtravaCATza!, is in full swing at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
As part of the event, the first 100 cats adopted from the shelter during the month of July will receive a free spay or neuter. The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will also open for three special Sunday adoptions from 12 – 4 p.m. on Sundays, July 11, July 18 and July 25.
On Sunday, July 11, Dewey Animals will feature kittens available for adoption at the shelter. Adoptions processes and fees vary by group.

—The Rotary Club of McLean installed its new officers Thursday night. President: William Glenn Yarborough; President elect: Robert Driver-Bishop; Secretary Cherry Baumbusch; Club Foundation President Stanley I. Richards; Treasurer Richard P. Neldon, Sergeant-At-Arms, Sam Agarwal. Paul A. Frank is the outgoing president. “To me McLean Rotary is a group of friends working together sort of like the military where they guys had your back,” Yarborough said.
