Langley Lacrosse Champs Honored

Langley lacrosse champs with Fairfax Board of Supervisors

MCLEAN, VA – Dranesville Supervisor John Foust sent this along: He and his colleagues on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recognized the Langley High School Boys Lacrosse Team at their July 27 board meeting for winning the Virginia High School League’s state tournament and becoming two-time consecutive Virginia State Lacrosse Champions.

The Langley Saxons clinched the title on June 12, against the Loudoun Valley Vikings at Westfield High School. The Saxons came to the tournament as reigning champions after winning at last year’s state tournament.

Supervisor Foust presented the team members with a certificate recognizing them for their dedication to their goal, outstanding teamwork and exemplary sportsmanship. “This is a team of outstanding athletes,” said Supervisor Foust. “To win this title two years in a row is an amazing achievement.”

Foust arranged a similar ceremony earlier this months for the McLean High School Girls Softball Team  for winning the Virginia State AAA Championship and becoming state softball champions.
