Langley and McLean Lose Post-season games
MCLEAN, VA – Both Langley and McLean lost their postseason playoff games Friday evening.
Lake Braddock trounced Langley 34-10. Hayfield did much the same to McLean 34-13.
The Burke Patch reported in a battle of two of the area’s best quarterbacks, Michael Nebrich and Lake Braddock reigned supreme, advancing to the semifinals of the Division 6 Northern Region playoffs with their win over Langley. The Patriot District Offensive Player of the Year accounted for four touchdowns to pace a surprisingly well-balanced Bruin attack.
The Kingstowne Patch reported Highlanders’ senior quarterback Chase Mills left the game with 2:05 remaining in the first quarter, but Mills would not have been able to stop the Hawks from gaining more than 200 yards on the ground. The injury to the quarterback may have been a morale killer for McLean, but the defense wasn’t focused enough to stop the ground game and the offense stopped itself with two fumbles in the red zone.
