Saturday: Emergency Food Drive in McLean

MCLEAN VA – An emergency food drive will be held Saturday at two McLean supermarkets to replenish the severely depleted supplies at Share, the local organization that helps our neighbors in need.

Share, Inc. was established in 1969 by a coalition of religious and civic institutions to meet the emergency needs of the less fortunate in McLean, Great Falls, Pimmit Hills, and surrounding areas. Share is sustained by donations of food, clothing, furniture and funds, and is adminstered by volunteers.

Increasingly, many needy families depend on free food distribution from Share, and Share running out of supplies.

Where and when: Safeway near Pimmit Hills, 7401 Colshire Drive and Giant, 1454 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean.  Hours – 10 am to 3 pm.

What: Please donate canned/boxed food, rice, sugar, flour, detergent, hand soap, diapers, toilet paper, other houshold basics.  Grocery gift cards welcomed. All donations will be given to local people in need.

SHARE also accepts food and other donations at its food and clothing rooms in the McLean Baptist Church, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10-12.
